Live Connected to Your Heart

Based from Proverbs 4:23, Pastor Nate stresses the necessity of guarding one’s heart with all vigilance, as it is the moral, spiritual, and executive center from which all of life—including values, words, and actions—flows. Challenging the culture’s emphasis on “follow your heart” or expressive hyperindividualism, Pastor Nate asserts that living a life of spiritual victory requires intentionality and “training for the life that you want to live”. He outlines four essential rhythms for maintaining this vital connection: pressing the Bible into your heart to discern what is true and excellent; encouraging others and seeking to be encouraged daily to avoid the heart being hardened by the deceitfulness of sin; living self-controlled lives (self-command) to rightly order one’s loves and put Jesus first; and being physically present with people, counteracting the modern tendency to be “forever elsewhere” due to digital distractions. Ultimately, the message is a call to repentance and belief in Jesus, who changes the heart from the inside out, offering a clean conscience and the depth of joy that comes from living connected to him.
