Family Dedication
We celebrate family dedication at Graceland because we believe the family is a God-commissioned institution by which children come into the world, are raised up in the Lord and sent out into that world as a light and as a contributing member of society that perpetuates the family by having their own and repeating the cycle of child-rearing, training and sending out. (Genesis 1:28, Deuteronomy 6:6-7, Psalm 127:3-4, Proverbs 22:6)
Entering Kindergarten
We celebrate the transition of kids entering kindergarten because this is the first time they will be in an independent setting where they will experience new emotions and challenges in their lives. This also brings with it new worries and challenges for parents as well as new and exciting adventures.
The Talk
We want to come alongside parents and help equip them and normalize the subjects of sex, gender and identity. We want to help parents as they navigate these conversations with their kids.
Entering Middle School
We want to walk with parents and students as they enter this new season of 6th grade. We want help connect students together with other students and student leader they will be with as well as connect parents to each other and their kids’ leaders. We want to walk with parents and students as they navigate new schools and student ministry at church.
Entering High School
The focus of our 9th grade milestone is to help equip parents’ milestone is to help equip parents on some of the key transitions and challenges they will be faced with as their kid enters high school. We want to also connect them with other parents as a way of encouragement and guidance.
Entering Independence
We understand that 16 is a big age for students. This typically brings with it big changes in their lives like driving and working. These changes are the beginning steps of becoming independent. We want to walk with parents to help navigate these new steps.
Graduation
This milestone is a celebration and commissioning of our seniors as they transition from being a teenager into adulthood. This is a yearlong process where we walk with parents to guide and prepare them during the school year for the commissioning ceremony at the end.
