You’re Not God. And that’s a good thing.
In this sermon, Pastor Tony concludes the 28-week series on Genesis, shifting focus to John 1 to illustrate God’s unwavering control and sovereignty. He emphasizes the “theology of remembrance,” urging listeners to remember that God is in control. Throughout the messy stories of Genesis—from creation and the fall, to Noah’s Ark, the Tower of Babel, and the lives of Abraham, Jacob, and Joseph—the message is clear: “You are not God, and that’s a good thing,” because God is actually in control. The sermon highlights that Genesis points to Jesus, the Word who was with God and was God, demonstrating that God’s plan of salvation was in motion from the beginning. Ultimately, the message encourages listeners to believe that God’s control, though seemingly messy, always leads to Jesus, and to release control and trust God, who holds all things and is the light that darkness cannot overcome.
