What do I do?

PRAY. Ask the Holy Spirit for help in understanding the passage and clarity on what He wants you to see in the text.

READ. Read the passage and reread it.

JOURNAL. Journal answers to these questions:

  • OBSERVATION. What does it say?
  • INTERPRETATION. What does it mean?
  • APPLICATION. How does it apply?

PRAY. Ask the Holy Spirit for grace to believe and do what you’ve just read.

 

Additional Questions:

  • Example: Is there an example to follow?
  • Command: Is there any command for me to obey?
  • Error: Is there any error for me to avoid?
  • Promise: Is there a promise for me to claim?
  • Thought: Is there any thought about God Himself?
  • Life: Am I living in light of this?
  • Difference: What difference does this passage make?
  • Posture: Am I taking this seriously?
  • Believe it: How does believing this good news change how we live?
